"Love Is All"

I was recently asked to consider the difference between “making” and “creating”.

Upon closer consideration, the truth was revealed.

"Making" is wrapped around the to-do’s of life, the punch list of perceived self worth.  It is wrapped with control and the “necessary” planning in order to drive a situation to a self guided outcome.

On the flip side, is our natural gift to "create".  Without fear or judgement, to trust the voice from within that is the heartbeat of our truth.  To listen closely to source without question or doubt, acting as a conduit for love to speak and to fuel our deepest desires.

Knowing "how” we get there is not important…for if we trust ourselves and the power of love, everything will be provided and we will know the way.

There is LOVE and there is everything else.
Only LOVE is real.

When an Angel Calls

Blessed With A Dream Commission....

...that was due to amazing clients, Angel & Randy Mercier, that appreciate art and have an understanding and trust of the creative process.  Being given a wall of this size to work with, within the intimacy of a bedroom space, is pretty unique. Upon opening their eyes in the morning, this is the first thing that they view...making it so important that this piece fuel them and speak to their heart and their passions.

The details of their spiritual beliefs, the family unit, their playfulness…these were all factors in deciding upon the conceptual subject matter of this piece.  Every element was designed with intention...

...down to the sculpted nest that houses two clay birds that represent their girls, and a sculpted steel heart and envelop slot for love letters.

This commission consists of eleven canvases with the 12th being a sculpted tree with fused glass florets that extends across all canvases (6'X14') .

I was thrilled to include all of the mediums that I work with within one piece….a first for me.
Elements include a sculpted metal tree with scribed bark, fused glass florets, clay birds, stones & crystals to support chakra balance, a sculpted glass lotus votive, textured fabric as well as acrylic paintings.

The biggest challenge was the tree sculpture that was created in 5 pieces, with room for expansion, that was retrofit on site upon the completed canvases, taken back to the studio for final alterations and surface finishing and then re-installed on site.    From initial consultation, to design renderings and revisions, fabrication to installation and documentation…this piece was a 5 month project.

This piece was amazing on all levels…

the clients, the subject matter that resonates with my heart, my belief in the design and my trust in the creative process..the planets were all in alignment…it felt, and continues to feel, AMAZING!!!

I am a proud mother. Ultimately, it is an honor to have my works, and the energy that created them, in a client’s home or office, commissioned or otherwise.

It is important that people recognize that art is energy and to ask themselves,  “What type of energy do I want to surround myself with?" Hopefully it is energy that is well felt, that best supports you and brings you to your highest potential.

I Can Hear My Heart Sing

A shift is taking place...you may be feeling it as well.  I quiet the mind, I focus on my breath and I can hear my heart sing. I can feel the truth of my spirit and I want to stand on the highest peak and sing it out loud. I am here to create...to inspire...to connect.     I Believe.

Embracing a new pathway with new found clarity and intention.
I welcome you to join me on the journey.

With Love, Gratitude & Happiness.

"The Folsom Experience".....

When the City of Folsom put out an RFP for the Amgen Tour Men's & Women's Finalist Awards, I jumped.

A gift from the City of Folsom, in sculpture form vs. a typical trophy, reminding riders of the Folsom landscape that they experienced during their Stage 2 leg of the
Amgen Tour of California, 2014.

Works were created on glass using a dry brush “painting with glass” technique over two glass layers.  Once stack fused, these layers suspend the amazing wildlife and scenic landscape of Folsom’s unique bike trail experience.

These fused glass depictions were then suspended upon a sculpted steel frame that is enhanced to depict a bike route around the American River Parkway.

Alison Powers (UnitedHealthcare) scored a high-profile win when she rode to victory in the Amgen Tour of California Women’s Time Trial.
English star Bradley Wiggins won the individual time trial in Folsom and took the overall.
